Sporting giant Nike has promoted Tom Peddie to the role of vice president and general manager of the emerging markets geography.

Peddie, currently vice president of global sales, is a 24-year Nike veteran. He has previously held senior-level management positions in the group's global sales organisation having served as vice president of sales for both Asia Pacific and North America.

He replaces Roland Wolfram who, after 16 years with Nike, will retire from the company on 9 January. Peddie will report to Elliott Hill, president of geographies and sales for the Nike brand.

"Tom has been instrumental in driving Nike's holistic marketplace management strategy worldwide," said Trevor Edwards, president of the Nike brand. "We are looking forward to his leadership in the emerging markets as we continue to elevate the brand, build strong consumer connections and drive premium marketplace executions."
