Apparel designer and marketer Nitches said it registered net income of US$45,000 for the second quarter of financial 2006 compared to a $524,000 loss in the year-ago period, boosted by the purchase of Designer Intimates.

Net sales, meanwhile, jumped 89% during the quarter to $12.3m versus $6.5m a year ago.

Earnings during the period were negatively impacted due to one time, non-cash adjustments related to the acquisition of Designer Intimates on 24 October 24 2005.

For the six months ended 28 February, the company earned $.15 per weighted average share as compared to a $.15 loss in the year earlier period.
