Exports of non-leather footwear from India grew 55.2 per cent year-on-year for the four months to July 31, The Hindu Business Line has reported.

The positive result was despite a negative growth rate in total exports, which were down 6.15 per cent year-on-year to US$634.6 million.

Exports of footwear uppers and garments continued their sharp fall, with the downturn in the former product attributed to the closure of many foreign shoe manufacturing units.
