Nordstrom, Inc (NYSE:JWN) today reported preliminary sales of $594.6m for the month of November 2000, an increase of 9.2 per cent compared to sales of $544.4m in November 1999. Same-store sales declined 0.6 per cent.

Preliminary year-to-date sales of $4.5bn increased 7.5 per cent compared to 1999 year-to-date sales of $4.2bn. Year-to-date same-store sales increased 1.0 per cent.

Total sales for November 2000 increased approximately six per cent, and same-store sales declined approximately three per cent. Adjusted same-store sales in full-line stores increased in the East Coast Region, and in the Junior Women's and Cosmetics merchandise categories.
