Strong sales of full-price products and better control of costs have helped specialty fashion retailer Nordstrom Inc to a 42.6% surge in third quarter earnings.

The company says it now expects to earn $2.60 to $2.65 per share for the full year. And revenues at stores open at least a year are seen rising 6% in fiscal 2010.
