Clothing and footwear sales in the UK retail sector improved during November, boosted by a colder spell of weather.

According to the latest figures from the BRC-KPMG Retail Sales Monitor, UK retail sales values were up 0.7% on a like-for-like basis compared to November last year, while total sales rose 2.8% – compared to a 4.1% increase this time last year.

Non-food, non-store (internet, mail order and phone sales) growth recovered in November after slowing in October, moving up 17.6% on last year, compared to a 16.9% increase a year ago.
