Californian eyewear brand Oakley has ambitious plans to expand its business in the Indian market, and by the end of next year should be selling its full range of watches, footwear, apparel and accessories in the country.

The company currently has a marketing office in India and distributes its eyewear through a selective retail network.

And according to international director Scott Lewis: “We want to be the No 1 brand in India and we’ll invest substantially to achieve that.”

He told the Financial Express: “While we will continue to be aggressive in both the existing markets, we are particularly excited about the new emerging markets like the Asian region. We see India as an influential country in Asia.”
