A line of children's clothing inspired by President Obama's school days has been launched in the US.

Obama High Clothing Company has brought out a new range of t-shirts, sweatshirts and other clothing, including shirts for Obama High Football, Obama High Basketball and the Obama High Debate Team.

Designer Gary Apple said he was inspired to create the range on the day of Obama's election by the president's school days attending JFK High School in Long Island.

The company said the t-shirts and sweatshirts "offer a playful blend of school spirit and patriotic symbolism", including a basketball shirt featuring Obama playing one-on-one with Abraham Lincoln.

The range comes in 11 different styles and retails at US$18.95-29.99.
