Officers Club, the value menswear retailer that announced ambitious expansion plans earlier this week has announced it is due to open its first shops in Northern Ireland, Retail Week reported.

Chairman David Charlton said three shops are already under offer, and he sees potential for 10 within two years. The retailer will roll out under its Petroleum brand.

"I don't think the Officers Club name would go down very well there," said Mr Charlton.

Earlier this week, the company announced that it was planning to double the number of its stores to more than 300 outlets, doubling it 1,700 strong workforce over the next three years.
