Textile officials in Taiwan are drawing up a six-year development plan aimed at boosting its gross production value by more than 33 per cent to US$15 billion by 2008.

The Industrial Development Bureau says the blueprint will help the development of the high technology-based textile industry, the fashion design industry and the sportswear industry.

Officials also plan to increase the country's presence in the international fashion industry by helping up to 250 young designers improve their skills and ideas.
