New York-based fabric supplier Olah Inc has set up new Canadian headquarters which are being headed by fashion industry veteran Debbie Mazur.

The office, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, marks a return to Canada for Olah, which started its business in Toronto in 1959.

In her new role as managing director, Mazur, the former president of the private label division of Western Glove Works, has been tasked with re-establishing Olah's presence in the Canadian market by providing a more specialised fully-supported service for both textiles and garments. She will oversee product development, marketing and business development.

Mazur's 28 years in the garment industry also include experience with both major American and Canadian retailers such as Nordstrom's, American Eagle, Gap, The Bay, Wal-Mart and Zellers, as well as designer brands such as Marc Jacobs, Anna Sui and Victoria Beckham.

Olah has offices in New York, Los Angeles, Dallas, Nashville and Hong Kong and supplies US companies with denim, corduroy and piece-dyed fabrics. It also produces Kingpins, an international boutique denim sourcing show, in New York, Los Angeles, Hong Kong, Shanghai and India.
