German mail-order giant Otto Group has revealed plans to fully take over the French e-commerce and services company 3SI Group.

Otto Group said has been involved in the company for almost 30 years, and owns a narrow majority of the shares.

The acquisition would include the Blancheporte, 3 Suisses, Becquet, Venca, Unigro, Magnet, Vitrine Magique, Helline, Witt, 3 Pagen and OTTO Office companies. It is also looking to acquire the Dispeo (store logistics), Mondial Relay (distribution logistics), Mezzo (customer service center), Taylormail (mailing specialist) and Cité Numérique (producer of digital content) businesses.

The company's other activities, mostly consisting of financial services businesses and BtoB e-commerce, will remain part of the present joint venture with FIPAR.

Otto Group said it wants to acquire the business to further develop its activities, and it will enable closer co-operation with other brands within the Otto Group.

3SI Group is the 3rd largest e-commerce group in France, with 21m unique visitors per month.
