Pacific Retail Group on Wednesday announced a 14 per cent year-on-year climb in six month profit to $6.1 million as its results were boosted by the April acquisition of lingerie maker Bendon.

The company said sales jumped 27 per cent to $270m from the year-ago period with earnings before unusual items and tax up 46 per cent to $11m. It added Bendon’s revenue rose 18 per cent to $42m.

Chief executive Peter Halkett said: "The six-month (Bendon) result of $1.6m compares well to the break-even result for the same period last year and includes UK operating costs for the first time."
