Partex Apparel International in El Salvador has become the first firm in Central America to take delivery of Tukatech's e-fit Simulator, a 3D virtual sample and fit development system.

The company, which manufactures private label sports and performance apparel for US brands and retailers, says "3D virtual samples make more sense today than ever."

"We expect to reduce time and cost significantly with 3D sampling process," explains Juan Zighelboim, one of the owners of Partex.

e-fit Simulator helps designers, pattern makers and apparel manufacturers to present style decisions, test the fit of a garment or share fit comments with others around the globe.

The software takes a digital (CAD) patterns and a set of fabric values such as stretch, weight, and texture.

It then creates a digital sample of the garment, draped on a 3D virtual fit model which is an exact replica of the live fit model, by using the latest in cloth simulation technology.
