Footwear chain Payless ShoeSource Inc has signed a new multi-year deal with designer Christian Siriano following the success of his initial collection which was launched last autumn.

The exclusive-to-Payless label - called 'Christian Siriano for Payless' - will be expanded to a wider seasonal collection of up to 20 shoe and handbag styles each season, which will be available in about 2,400 stores and online. The line will be refreshed twice a year.

The one-year-old label currently includes four-to-six dress shoe styles and two coordinating handbags priced between $25- $60.

"This expanded Payless collection, for me, is an opportunity to branch out even more and reach more women with my designs," Siriano said. "I'll draw inspiration from lots more everyday elements to create amazing looks including a range of boots, casuals, flats, sandals and handbags in addition to dress styles."

"With his immense creative talent each season and the popularity of his label, it just made sense to provide him with a broader platform," added said LuAnn Via, CEO of Payless. "With this expanded arrangement we are making the Christian Siriano for Payless label a stronger brand in our portfolio."

Christian Siriano was the winner of season four of Bravo's Project Runway reality fashion series and has since gone on to build a strong celebrity following for his own-name label.

Other Payless 'guest' designers include Lela Rose, Isabel Toledo and Patricia Field.
