UK retailer Peacock Group's plans to increase its fashion focus and refurbish its stores drove same-store sales by 4.6 per cent in the 13 weeks ended 2 April.

Net sales for the period rose 10.8 per cent.

Same-store sales for the full financial year increased 3.6 per cent, with a total sales growth of 11.9 per cent.

Like-for-like gross profit grew 10.3 per cent in the 13 weeks and 5.9 per cent in the year.

The company said that its Peacocks men's wear division was growing well while ladies' wear and footwear continued to thrive.

The Bonmarche 45+ women's chain, however, saw a further sales drop.
