Florida-based clothing company Perry Ellis International Inc on Wednesday entered into distribution agreements for three of its top brands in Europe and Australia as it continues its global expansion drive.

The firm, whose brands include Perry Ellis, Jantzen, Munsingwear and John Henry, said Core Distribution will concentrate on the distribution of the emerging Original Penguin line throughout all of Europe.

A new agreement has been signed with UK-based Bunker Boy to distribute Grand Slam products throughout the UK and Europe, while in Australia Axis Sportswear will be sold for the first time through a new licensing deal with N Kling.

"Men's clothing will be the key focus for the brand in the first season, as distribution is targeted at the image retailers in the influential areas," stated Core Distribution president Frank Duffy.

"Over the first two years, we plan to sell the brand through 250 accounts in Europe. We will target key retailers in the UK, Italy, Scandinavia, Benelux, France and Germany."

Financial details of the three agreements were not disclosed but Perry Ellis said both the Original Penguin and Axis Sportswear lines will launch next Spring.
