Morada International Limited, one of Europe's leading suppliers of fashion linings, is set to open a major new customer service centre and warehouse facility in Poland. The new wholly owned Morada Polska Sp.zo.o is situated in Lodz, Poland's premium garment manufacturing and textile area, and was officially opened for full trading at the end of April 2000. Morada will stock over one million metres of its lining products in its 400 sq/m facility, giving clothing manufacturers operating throughout Poland 24-48 hour access to one of Europe's most extensive lining ranges.

Morada Polska SPazoo is the latest step in the company's recently announced multi-million pound global investment programme, which saw the opening of a new Morada customer service and distribution centre in Turkey and a partnership venture with JIComet Limited to cover Morocco. Morada Polska will support offshore UK manufacturers operating in the region and will also target the growing number of manufacturers re-locating from Eire, France, Holland, Germany and the Benelux countries.

Rob Morris, managing director, Lining Division, Morada International Limited explains why the company saw Poland as a strategic growth market: "Poland is fast becoming a favourite offshore manufacturing location for the UK and for many northern European countries who demand very high standards of product and service. We have sited our new operation in Lodz because it is the centre of the Polish clothing manufacturing sector and is geared up to deal with the international fashion and garment making trade. It has quick and efficient customs clearance procedures and local VAT and financial experts are readily available."

Morada Polska will supply and support the full range of high performance, fashion lining qualities, including polyester, acetate and viscose linings and mixed blends including poly/viscose, acetate/viscose, acetate/nylon, all available in a choice of taffeta, twill and satin finishes. The linings will be available in up to 200 standard Morada shades, and customers will also benefit from the company's UK research and development teams who will produce customised linings and dye shades to order in its accredited laboratory and testing centre.

From its Lancashire head office Morada is currently building a global infrastructure that will enable it to support its customers wherever they choose to design and produce. As part of its radical global roll out programme it has signed an exclusive product and distribution agreement with the $12 billion Japanese textiles giant Teijin Limited, opened a wholly owned direct sales, stock and support operation in Turkey and now Poland, and formed a strategic partnership with JIComet Limited to store and distribute Morada linings throughout Morocco. These recent initiatives are in addition to its existing distribution channels in Eire and the Baltics. Morada is also considering new regional operations in Romania, Sri Lanka, Indonesia and Hungary.
