Polo Ralph Lauren is poised to open its second store in Paris - and its largest women's store in the world - this autumn.

The near-600sq m building in Avenue Montaigne, built during the 18th century French Rococo period, will be the company's first boutique solely dedicated to women's wear.

The store will sell all of Polo Ralph Lauren's signature women's wear lines, including Collection, Black Label and Blue Label.

"Paris has long inspired me for its timeless beauty and rich history, and I am thrilled to be opening our second location in this sophisticated and vibrant city," said Ralph Lauren.

"Avenue Montaigne is one of the world's great shopping streets and the perfect location to showcase our women's collection."

The company said the opening was part of its strategy aimed at boosting its European presence through "prime real estate locations".

Polo Ralph Lauren has an existing Paris store on Place de la Madeleine, which opened in 1986.
