Golf apparel retailer Cutter & Buck Inc has posted a 5.3% drop in second quarter sales to US$ 33.7m compared with the same period last year, driven by decreases in its corporate and golf business units.

For the quarter ended 31 October 2005, net income was $900,000, or 8 cents per share, a sharp decline from $2.9 million, or 26 cents per share, a year ago.

"The second quarter was impacted by the same factors that have impacted our previous quarters; that being product design and quality.

"We will not see the impact of the changes we have implemented until the second half of this year," said Tom Wyatt, chief executive officer.
