The company founded by former pop star MC Hammer has begun talks with more than 1,000 retailers to sell its exclusive men's clothing collection and accessory line from next spring.

Called the J Slick Collection by MC Hammer, the fashions were first unveiled by Hammertime Holdings Inc last month at MAGIC in Las Veags, one of the country's top retail conventions.

Since then, the company has attracted major nationwide retailers for agreements to sell and market its clothing collection. In addition, the firm is seeking to expand its suit and accessory line into outerwear, including items such as leather jackets.

MC Hammer, founder and ceo of Hammertime Holdings, said: "The Magic convention proved to be a successful venue for introducing J Slick to several prominent players in the fashion industry. We expect to market our existing product line via retail outlets beginning in the spring 2002 fashion season.

"We also anticipate forming co-branding agreements with some of the country's most recognised brand names. With significant merchandising and branding opportunities ahead, J Slick is expected to contribute to Hammertime's annual revenues in 2002."
