Textile testing firm Precision Processes Textiles (PPT) has unveiled a new technology called Millclean MAU which it says "significantly improves" the colour fastness of disperse dyed polyester.

The Derbyshire-based company said Millclean MAU removes loose disperse dyestuff from polyester at low temperatures, with the colour gently lifted so that any loose dye is held away from the substrate.

"The effect of this technology is to significantly improve the wash fastness properties of disperse dyed polyester," PPT said in a news release.

"Further, Millclean MAU can be utilised on multi-coloured prints or garments to treat problem areas of colour, without creating staining on adjacent areas."
