The water-resistant insulation regulates wearers’ comfort levels during intense activity

Materials science business PrimaLoft has developed PrimaLoft Gold Insulation Active, which is said to offer a breathable four-way stretch performance and unmatched warmth during outdoor activities.

Designed specifically for high output activities such as running, hiking or skiing, the insulation's construction enables excess heat and moisture to escape, keeping the wearer comfortable and dry.

Specifically, the company's Gold Insulation Active finish and manufacturing process locks tiny PrimaLoft fibres in place, preventing fibres from migrating through fabrics, enabling it to be used with more breathable, open weave and stretch materials. The soft, packable and water-resistant insulation regulates wearers' comfort levels during intense activity, PrimaLoft says.

And with its optimal thermal efficiency, PrimaLoft Gold Insulation Active eliminates the need for repeatedly putting on or taking off layers.

"The addition of PrimaLoft Gold Insulation Active to our roster of technologies is a natural progression in our innovation pipeline," said PrimaLoft president and CEO Mike Joyce. "This technology builds upon the success of PrimaLoft Silver Insulation Active, giving our brand partners more versatility in their designs meeting a growing consumer demand.

PrimaLoft Gold Insulation Active is Bluesign certified, and will debut at the ISPO show in Munich from 24-27 January.

Launch partners for PrimaLoft Gold Insulation Active include: Adidas Group, Bergans, Billabong, Gore Bike, Lacroix, La Sportiva, Marmot, Norrona, Rab, Red Fox, Schöffel, Skigo, Rab, Red Fox, Degree7, Audimas, L.L. Bean, Merrell, Under Armour, and Eddie Bauer
