Knitwear label Pringle's chief executive Kim Winser is to quit the company she helped turn around this year.

Winser joined the company in 2000 after working as a director at retail giant Marks and Spencer and has been been accredited with revitalising the label's flagging image.

Winser is said to be planning to join another UK brand when she leaves 190-year-old Pringle.

Pringle is now a firm catwalk favourite after once being known as a favourite among middle-aged golfers, but is still struggling to make a profit.
