Puma has added to its growing roster of subsidiaries in eastern Europe with the opening of a new office in Zagreb to deal with its Croatian business.

Puma Sport Hrvatska will formally open for business on 1 January 2008, led by Tomislav Coga, general manager Croatia and previously divisional sales manager at Nike, where he worked for ten years.

Coga will be supported by sales manager Mladen Stranjgar and sales representative Sabina Halilovic, both of whom join from Puma's current Croatian distributor, Tradexco.

Coga said the new business would aim to maximise Puma's brand potential in the market, where Puma products have been sold since 2003 through Tradexco, which will remain a "valued retail partner" for the company.

The move is part of the German company's international expansion strategy, which also includes the opening of a similar subsidiary in Romania in January.
