German sportswear brand Puma has revealed what it says is a unique, customisable lacing technology, designed to enhance the fit and support of the shoe.

With Netfit, Puma claims to have reinvented lacing by offering infinite performance and style options in one shoe, thanks to a high grade engineered net and form-fitting base materials.

The new system, which Puma says offers endless lacing possibilities, focuses on five main lacing options developed by the company's innovation and performance teams. Besides, the Standard setting, for runners who prefer the regular lacing, these include Stability, for runners who need additional medial support; Wide Foot, for runners with wider feet who need extra room; Narrow Foot, for runners with narrow feet; and Heel Support, for runners who prefer a tighter fit around the heel.

While the Puma Speed Ignite Netfit is available now, the company says the new technology will also be rolled out across several shoe models including the 365 evoKnit Netfit, Ignite Netfit, Tsugi Netfit, and the Ignite Limitless Netfit

Last week, in partnership with polymer company Covestro, Puma revealed it has developed a new generation of its evoPOWER football boot that it says offers more comfort and precision when kicking, and improved sustainability.
