Police and officials from sportswear giant Reebok International have teamed up to launch a large-scale crackdown on producers of fake apparel and athletic shoes in India.

Staff at subsidiary Reebok India joined police and investigators for a series of raids on makers of counterfeit apparel as part of a joint clampdown on unscrupulous manufacturers and traders

Officials want those found guilty of selling fake brand-name clothing and footwear to be jailed for up to three years or hit with heavy fines.
