Athletic wear firm Reebok is allowing shoppers to design and customise National Football League (NFL) and Major League Baseball (MLB) licensed shoes on its website

Previously featuring three customisable lifestyle shoes, from this week the website will launch the NFL Recline and MLB Clubhouse shoes with team logos from all 32 NFL and all 30 MLB teams.

"Celebrating individuality in sport and life is paramount at Reebok and our new platform combines those aspects with an interactive outlet allowing consumers to express themselves," said Anderson McNeill, head of direct to consumer for Reebok and Rockport Brands.

"Our partnership with the NFL and MLB, along with an exceptional interactive customisation experience, lets consumers support their favourite teams with unique footwear that fits their own distinctive sense of style."

Shoppers can customise parts of the footwear from the tongues to the soles with different colours and textures and in both men's and women's sizes.

Other design options include team logos in various colours, multiple leather materials, contrast stitching, and personalisation by putting the wearer's name on the back heel.

Consumers can rotate their customised shoe 360 degrees in two dimensions as well as preview what their shoes will look like paired with jeans. Customised shoe designs can be saved in a virtual closet and shared with friends via email links.

Once ordered, consumers will receive their new shoes in just seven to ten days.
