The American Apparel & Footwear Association’s seventh AAFA Restricted Substances List has now been translated into Vietnamese to reflect its growing importance as a sourcing country.

The list covers apparel, footwear and home textiles, and can be downloaded free, along with a growing set of other chemical management tools, from the AAFA website.

The release of the new translation coincides with the AAFA International Product Safety and Restricted Substances Conference being held today (10 November) in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

“Because of our industry’s global supply chain, it is critical that the US apparel and footwear industry works collaboratively with partners all over the world,” said AAFA president and CEO Kevin Burke.

“By translating the AAFA Restricted Substances List into Vietnamese, we can more effectively communicate international product safety and chemical management requirements to the fastest-growing sourcing alternative to China.”
