The following is a general roundup of apparel and shoe chains' June 2006 sales results. The list will be updated as new results become available.

Plus-sized retailer United Retail Group has announced that net sales increased 5% to US$46m for June, from $44m during the same month in 2005, while same-store sales increased 5% for the month.

Family apparel firm Citi Trends posted a total monthly net sales increase of 25.9% to $28.5m, compared with $22.7m for the 2005 period. Same-store sales increased 4.3% during June, compared with a 14.5% increase in the prior-year period.

Action sports apparel company Zumiez has announced that total net sales in June 2006 increased 38.2% to $21.2m, compared to $15.3m for the prior year period. Same-store sales jumped 12.4%.

Women's apparel store chain Cache posted same-store sales increases of 4% during the June 2006 period, compared to a 10% increase in the prior-year period. Total sales increased $600,000, or 3%, to $22.m for the month, compared to the corresponding period last year.

The Children's Place Retail Stores said that consolidated sales, including Disney Store's, increased 21% to $151.7m compared to sales of $125.4m reported for June 2005. Same-store sales increased 14% in June, compared to last year's month.

Private label retailer Chico's reported June sales increases of 17.1% to $153.3m from $131.0m, while same-store sales increased 5.1% for the period, compared to the same month last year.
 
Fashion retailer Nordstrom posted sales of $827m for the month, an increase of 6.9% compared to sales of $773.6m for the five-week last year. Same-store sales increased 4.7% at the company.

Department store operator Stein Mart said net sales for June 2006 jumped 1.7% compared to the same period last year, to reach $133.9m. Same-store sales climbed 0.9% year-on-year.

Fashion retailer American Eagle Outfitters posted total sales for the month up 19% to $235.4m, compared to $198.4m for June 2005. Same-store sales increased 11% for the month.

Young women's retailer The Wet Seal reported that same-store sales decreased 4.0% for June, compared to a 59.3% increase for the same period a year ago, while net sales for the five-week period fell to $48.0m, compared with net sales of $49.2m in the same period last year, a decrease of 2.5%.

Suit specialist Men's Wearhouse announced a June increase of 9.2% to $189.3, from $173.4 in the prior year period, with same-store sales up 3.7% compared to June last year.

Department store retailer Stage Stores has reported that total sales for the monthly period of June increased 16% to $133.4m from $115.0m in the prior year five-week period. Same-store sales increased 3.5% on top of an 11% increase last year.

Maternity apparel retailer Mothers Work has posted a net sales increase of 6.8% to $49.6m from $46.4m during the month of June 2005, with same-store sales for June increasing 6.2% on last year.

JoS A Bank Clothiers has announced that total sales for the month of June increased 19.3% to $47.7m versus $40.0m in the comparable prior year period. Same-store sales jumped 8.5% when compared with June 2005.
 
Mall-based retailer Hot Topic announced a net sales jump of 8% for June 2006 to $61.4m, paired with a 7% quarter-to-date rise, while same-store sales fell 3.4% during the period, compared to last year.

Limited Brands reported a net sales increase of 5% to $1.078bn for the month of June, compared to net sales of $1.022bn last year,.as same-store sales increased 3% year-on-year.

Young clothing retailer The Buckle said net sales for the month decreased 2% to $37.3m from net sales of $38.1m in the corresponding five-week period in 2005. Meanwhile, same-store net sales, for stores open at least one year, fell 5.9% for the period.
 
Fashion retailer Pacific Sunwear of California said that total sales for June were $126.1m, an increase of 4.6% over total sales of $120.6m during the same period last year. Total company same-store sales decreased 2.7% during the same period.
 
Leather wear company Wilsons The Leather Experts reported a sales fall to $17.4m for June, as compared to $21.7m for the five weeks in June 2005. Comparable store sales decreased 19.9% for the month.

Ladies' clothing chain New York & Company announced that total net sales for the company increased 3.1% $93.9m, as compared to $91.1m in the prior year period. Same-store sales fell 5.5% for the five-week period, as compared to the prior year's period.

Juniors' retailer Deb Shops said net sales decreased 0.9% to $24.8m from $25.0m as same-store sales decreased 4.9%.

Off-price company Ross Stores sales total sales were $494 - a 12% increase above sales of $440mi last year. Same-store sales increased 5% on top of a 6% gain in the prior year.

Total sales increased 22.7% to $105.8m from $86.2m at active wear company Aeropostale. Same-store sales increased 5.3% compared to a 2% increase last year.

Department store retailer Saks said total sales decreased 43.8% to $306.8m from $546.1m last year. Same-store sales increased 4.7%.

Discount retailer Dollar General said total sales increased 8.5% to $876.7m from $808.4m a year ago. Same-store sales increased 2.5% compared with a 4.5% increase last year.

Upmarket retailer Neiman Marcus said total sales increased 10% to $386m from $351m last year while same-store sales increased 7.7%.

Fashion apparel and home furnishings chain Dillard's said total sales and same-store sales decreased 1% to $623.60m from $630.34m in 2005.

Department store chain Federated said total sales increased 64.8% to $2.37bn from $1.44bn in 2005. Same-store sales increased 1.7%.

Department store retailer The Bon-Ton Stores said total sales increased 171% to $304.2m compared to $112.2m a year ago as same-store sales increased 6.6%.

Fashion apparel chain The Wet Seal said total sales decreased 2.5% to $48m from $49.2m a year ago while same-store sales decreased 4%.

Plus-size retailer United Retail Group said total sales increased 6% to $88.1m from $83.2m last year. Same-store sales increased 5%.

Discount chain Target said total sales increased 11.3% to $5.09bn from $4.58bn in 2005. Same-store sales increased 4.8%.

Off-price group TJX Companies said total sales increased 9% to $1.6bn from $1.4bn a year ago. Same-store sales increased 2%.

Lifestyle outfitter Abercrombie & Fitch said total sales increased 10% to $243m from $221.6m last year while same-store sales decreased 4%.

Lifestyle brand Guess? said total sales increased 16.9% to $62.9m compared to $53.8m last year while same-store sales increased 17.4%.

Children's wear company Gymboree said total sales increased 15% to $56.2m from $48.6m the year before. Same-store sales increased 9% compared to a 17% increase in 2005.

Apparel and accessories company bebe said total sales increased 11.9% to $56.6m from $50.6m as same-store sales increased 3.5% compared to an increase of 31.4% a year ago.
