The following is a general roundup of apparel and shoe chains' September sales results. The list will be updated as new results become available.

Plus-sized women's fashion retailer United Retail Group Inc said net sales increased 2 per cent to $36.9 million from $36.0 million last year, while same-store sales increased 4 per cent.

Casual and active apparel retailer Aeropostale Inc said net sales increased 15.1 per cent to $104.3 million compared to $90.6 million a year ago. Same-store sales decreased 4.2 per cent compared to an increase of 1.9 per cent in 2004.

Action sports goods retailer Zumiez Inc said net sales increased 26.8 per cent to $19.5 million from to $15.4 million last year, while same-store sales increased 10.1 per cent compared to an increase of 17.3 per cent last year.

Young persons' lifestyle retailer American Eagle Outfitters Inc said net sales increased 20.9 per cent to $183.8 million compared to $152.0 million in 2004. Same-store sales increased 13.0 per cent.

Value-priced urban goods retailer Citi Trends Inc said net sales increased 43.1 per cent to $22.4 million from $15.7 million last year, while same-store sales increased 19.5 per cent compared with a 1.7 per cent increase a year ago.

Specialty men's apparel retailer Men's Wearhouse Inc said net sales increased 8.2 per cent to $151.6 million, while same-store sales increased 5.2 per cent in the US and 2.4 per cent in Canada.

Specialty women's apparel retailer Cache Inc said net sales increased 9.7 per cent to $24.8 million, while same-store sales increased 6 per cent.

Career and casual clothing retailer The Dress Barn Inc said net sales increased 50 per cent to $120.3 million compared to $80.4 while same-store sales increased 6 per cent.

Value-priced footwear and accessories retailer Shoe Carnival Inc has reported a 10.4 per cent net sales increase to $51.1 million from sales of $46.3 million a year ago. Same-store sales increased 6.5 per cent.

Leather wear retailer Wilsons The Leather Experts Inc said net sales decreased 9.4 per cent to $27.3 million compared to $30.2 million last year, while same-store sales decreased 6.6 per cent compared to a 3.7 per cent increase last year.
 
Mid-priced apparel chain New York & Company Inc said net sales increased 7.5 per cent to $104.9 million compared to $97.6 million a year ago, while same-store sales decreased 0.4 per cent compared to an increase of 4.6 per cent last year.

Off-price shoe retailer The Shoe Pavilion said net sales increased 20.1 per cent to $24.8 million from $20.7 million a year ago, while same-store sales increased 7.8 per cent.
 
 Children's wear retailer The Children's Place Retail Stores Inc said net sales increased 52 per cent to $160.7 from $105.9 million in 2004. Same-store sales for
for The Children's Place stores increased 2 per cent compared to a 12 per cent increase last year.

Women's apparel and accessories company bebe stores Inc said net sales increased to $48.6 million from $40.0 in 2004, while same-store sales increased 12.3 per cent compared to an increase of 17.6 per cent in 2004.

Retail group Limited Brands said net sales increased 1 per cent to $687.3 million compared to net sales of $679.3 million last year. Same-store sales decreased 2 per cent.

Apparel, footwear and accessories retailer The Buckle Inc said net sales increased 3.0 percent to $44.7 million from sales of $43.4 million last year, while same-store sales decreased 1.4 per cent.

Online fashion retailer Bluefly Inc said net sales increased 61 per cent to about $ 4.8 million from $ 3.0 million last year.

Leading off-price company The TJX Companies Inc said net sales increased 6 per cent to $1.5 billion from $1.4 billion in 2004, while same-store sales were flat from last year's.

Off-price retailer Ross Stores Inc said net sales increased 19 per cent to $446 million from $374 million a year ago. Same-store sales increased 9 per cent compared to last year.
 
Footwear retailer Payless ShoeSource Inc said net sales decreased 2.2 per cent to $235.7 million.

Trendy lifestyle retailer Abercrombie & Fitch Co said net sales increased 31 per cent to $228.3 million from $174.7 million last year, while Abercrombie & Fitch same-store sales increased 15 per cent, same-store sales at Abercrombie increased 58 per cent and Hollister same-store sales increased 19 per cent.

Plus-sized women's apparel retailer Charming Shoppes said net sales increased 21 per cent to $250.7 million from $206.8 million last year, while same-store sales increased 3 per cent.

Upmarket lifestyle retailer Guess? Inc said net sales increased 25.3 per cent to $57.6 million from sales of $45.9 million last year, while same-store sales increased 14.2 per cent.

Fashion specialty retailer Nordstrom Inc said preliminary net sales increased 6.4 per cent to $636.7 million from $598.4 million in 2004, while same-store sales increased 4.1 per cent.

Department store chain Kohl's Corporation said net sales increased 9.8 per cent, while same-store sales decreased 0.2 per cent.

Retail group Saks Incorporated said net sales decreased 10.0 per cent, while same-store sales increased 3.2 per cent.

Retail group The Neiman Marcus Group Incsaid net sales increased 9.2 per cent to $397 million from $363m in 2004. Same-store sales increased 9.6 per cent to $390 million from $356 million a year ago.

Leading retailer Federated Department Stores Inc said net sales increased 89.6 per cent to $2.580 billion from $1.361 billion, while same-store sales increased 1.3 per cent.

Department store retailer Bon-Ton Stores Inc said both net and same-store sales decreased 7.8 per cent to $105.8 million compared to $114.8 million last year.

Adults' and children's retailer and cataloguer The Talbots Inc said net sales increased 1 per cent to $185.9 million from $184.9 million a year ago. Same-store sales decreased 5.1 per cent.

Fashion apparel and accessories retailer The Wet Seal Inc said net sales increased 15.8 per cent to $47.9 million from $41.4 million last year, while same-store sales increased 4.9 per cent compared with a decrease of 8.0 per cent in 2004.

Family retailer Stage Stores Inc said net sales increased 0.7 per cent to $98.5 million from $97.8 million in 2004. Same-store sales decreased 2.6 per cent compared to an increase of 2.5 per cent last year.

Leading men's wear retailer JoS A Bank Clothiers Inc said net sales increased 25.5 per cent to $40.3 million compared with $32.1 million a year ago. Same-store sales increased 12.9 per cent.
