Swedish fashion retailer RNB saw its sales during June fall 5.5% despite higher retail sales in the country.

RNB’s total sales in proprietary stores in June 2010 amounted to SEK244.6m (US$32.5m), compared with SEK 258.8m in the corresponding month a year earlier.

Those results exclude divested operations at Steen & Ström in Oslo though, which decreased 5.5%.

Including divested operations the sales decreased with 11.3%.

RNB's sales in comparable stores in Sweden in June 2010 decreased by 3.2% compared with the corresponding month in the preceding year.

The company said that according to the so-called Blixtindex issued by the Swedish Trade Federation (Svensk Handel), the Swedish clothing market increased by 1.4% in June.
