Outdoor footwear manufacturer Rocky Shoes & Boots will shut down its manufacturing plant in Nelsonville, Ohio on November 16 and shift production to its existing plant in Moca, Puerto Rico.

The Moca plant currently employs more than 300 persons, but the increased workload will give rise to an additional 50 to 70 new jobs.

"We make footwear for the US Postal Service and for the US Defense Department. These products have to be made in the US," David Fraedrich, senior VP and treasurer of Rocky Shoes & Boots, told El Nuevo Dia newspaper last month.
