Rose Marie Bravo, the current vice chairman and former chief executive of UK fashion house Burberry Group, has said she will step down from 1 July.

Bravo was the chief executive of the company from 1997 until 1 July 2006, when Angela Ahrendts took over the role and Bravo assumed the role of vice-chairman.

Burberry chairman John Peace said: "I would like to thank Rose Marie for her tremendous contribution as chief executive and for ensuring such a smooth transition over the past 12 months in her role as vice-chairman".

Bravo said: "I have thoroughly enjoyed being part of Burberry over the past ten years and I am confident that Angela and her team will continue to lead Burberry to even greater success."
