Brazil-based shoe maker Sandalias Giovanna will export 25,000 pairs of shoes to Saudi Arabia shortly, representing the company's first exports to an Arab country.

Sandalias is also due to take part in the Motexha Autumn shoe industry fair which is being held in Dubai next month.

The company - which ships 5.0 per cent of its production abroad - currently exports shoes to Portugal, the US, Spain, Panama, France and Argentina.

Shoe types currently being exported to Saudi are football shoes and men's, women's and children's tennis shoes.

14,000 more pairs are expected to be shipped to the country during September.
