French fashion brand Sandro has appointed former Louis Vuitton executive Jean-Philippe Hecquet as its global managing director.

Hecquet most recently led the retail businesses of Tag Heuer group worldwide. Prior to this, he held various positions at Louis Vuitton, including VP of operations of the brand's North American operations, as well as VP and manging director of Louis Vuitton Canada.

Daniel Lalonde, CEO of Sandro's parent company SMCP, said Hecquet's international expertise and experience in the luxury and retail industries will "further accelerate the global development of Sandro".

He added that the appointment completes the brand leadership team, following the appointment of Isabelle Allouch and of Sylvie Colin as the heads of Claudie Pierlot and Maje respectively.
