Barcode printing, labelling and EPC/RFID specialist SATO has appointed Kazuo Matsuyama as president and CEO, effective 3 October.

The appointment is part of plans to restructure the business as a pure holding company, and enable management to pursuing profitable growth opportunities.

SATO said that Matsuyma's global vision for expansion, his international sales and market experience and "most importantly, his demonstrated strength of character and leadership qualities" will allow SATO to move forward and expand its impact. He will replace Koichi Nishida, who will become chairman.

"In these complex times, Mr Matsuyama's dedication, vast international business experience, and vision for global expansion and corporate growth are essential qualities to reach our corporate goals," said Nishida.
