One of the world's leading producers of Nottingham lace, Scranton Lace Co, has axed production at its famous factory in Scranton, Pennsylvania, with the loss of around 50 jobs.
No further details were immediately available as to whether the company - which was founded in 1897 and once employed nearly 1,500 people - planned to relocate its plant or if Scranton Lace would continue as a brand.
