Upscale department store group Selfridges on Monday revealed it has snapped up a site in Glasgow for its fifth UK store.

The company said the store, which will open in 2007, will cover 200,000 square feet across four floors and take its total selling space to 1.2 million square feet.

Selfridges las week posted a 3.9 per cent rise year-on-year in first half pre-tax profits to £15.8 million on the back of a 6.1 per cent climb in sales to £192.7m.
