Senegal has asked Taiwan for help in setting up a new textile centre and urged them to invest in their country as they look to take advantage of export benefits through the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA).

The request for help came during a visit to the West African nation by Chou Yen, Taiwan's Export Processing Zone administration director, to promote technology transfers and industrial cooperation.

Yen said Senegalese trade officials are keen to attract overseas investment as they have a ready supply of workers and good seaport and airport facilities as well as good access to the lucrative US market under AGOA.
