Spanish fashion retailer Inditex SA has announced plans to distribute around 3.5 million shares to nearly 18,000 employees as part of a share compensation plan approved by directors in January.

All current employees who have worked for any one of the Inditex group of companies around the world since last December 31, 2000, are eligible to receive shares.

Each employee will receive 50 shares for each year they have worked for the company, while staff who work in countries that have legal restrictions against share compensation plans will receive an equivalent amount in cash.
