Leading Vietnam-based shoe and slipper manufacturer Dona Biti's has announced plans to open its first office in the US.

The company, which has an annual output of around six million pairs of shoes and slippers, will open an office in California in December, according to its general director, Lai Khiem,.

The US will be a large potential market for Dona Biti's products when the Vietnam-US trade pact is ratified, she said. It will be the company's second foreign office after its venture into China last year.

She added that Dona Biti's exports its products to 40 countries all over the world and between January and September posted an export turnover of $980,000, or 71.4 per cent of the year's plan, up 15 per cent.
