Fred Schneider, the chief financial officer of footwear firm Skechers, is resigning "to pursue other interests" the company said today (9 September), with his role being taken on by chief operating officer David Weinberg.

Schneider will stay with the company through February 2010 to ensure a smooth transition to Weinberg who previously held the CFO post from 1994-2006.

"Fred has made significant contributions to Skechers, and most notable was his recent leadership and hard work in securing our $250m syndicated credit facility," Weinberg said.

"We thank Fred for his many contributions to the company and wish him well in his future endeavours."
