Skechers USA, a lifestyle footwear company, announced plans to open three international marquee stores in key European tourist and fashion markets including a flagship store on Oxford Street in London.

Situated in high-traffic, high-visibility shopping areas of London, Dusseldorf and Paris, the Skechers retail stores will carry the company's current footwear lines for men, women and kids.

Opening to the public on March 1, with a grand opening celebration on March 22, the Oxford Street flagship store is located in one of London's busiest shopping areas, which includes global retailers such as The Gap, Foot Locker, Nike Town, H&M, Zara, and Mango. The London opening will be followed by Dusseldorf in mid-March 2001 and Paris in late spring.

"The European stores are certain to have a positive impact on Skechers' international business," said Michael Greenberg, president. "Building our brand identity is a key growth strategy for us in the international marketplace.

Intended to build brand awareness as well as successful business ventures, the European Skechers retail stores will follow the same design concepts and colour schemes as the Universal City Walk store in Los Angeles and the 34th St store in New York City.
