US-based intimate apparel brand Spanx has hired former Nike global apparel and footwear executive, Jan Singer, as its chief executive officer.

Singer replaces CEO Laurie Ann Goldman who announced her decision to leave the company in February.

Singer, who joins from Nike where she held various senior leadership roles including corporate VP of global apparel and footwear, will report to founder and owner Sara Blakely.

Prior to her roles at Nike, Singer served as the VP and general manager of Reebok's women's business and played key marketing and global communications roles for Chanel, Calvin Klein, and Prada.
