Sperry Top-Sider, a US-based casual and marine footwear brand, announced yesterday it has retained IMG Licensing, an independent licensing agency, to develop and implement programs for licensing the Sperry brand in a broad range of categories worldwide.

"Our strategy is to use every asset of the company to its fullest," said David Chamberlain, chairman and CEO of The Stride Rite Corporation, Sperry's parent company. "We're looking to grow beyond our traditional sales channels through licensing programs that are consistent with our image."

Sandra Slattery, Sperry's vice president of product and marketing said: "Our partnership with IMG is a valuable next step towards our goal of becoming a well-rounded lifestyle brand."

IMG Licensing is responsible for the exclusive development and administration of licensing programs.

Sperry is a division of The Stride Rite Corporation, the marketer of high quality footwear in the US under well-known brands, including its own premium children's label, in addition to the Keds, Tommy Hilfiger, and Grasshoppers lines.
