Sports apparel designer and maker Sport-Haley Inc on Friday announced that it has agreed a deal with a major Microsoft reseller to buy a new management information system designed specifically for the fashion industry.

The Colorado-based firm said the new software will allow it to significantly improve its internal controls with respect to order processing, purchasing requirements and timing, receiving and shipping operations and finished goods inventories management.

It will also streamline the company's controls with respect to EDI orders received from major customers.

"Our management team worked very hard to identify the right software fit for our business," stated Kevin Tomlinson, Sport-Haley CEO. "We're elated that we have located fashion apparel specific software backed by the recognised worldwide leader in the software industry."

"We believe that this software can provide a competitive advantage to Sport-Haley by allowing us to further streamline our operations, including significant improvements in customer service."
