Golf apparel maker Sport-Haley Inc has narrowed its third quarter loss, despite posting a 9.9% drop in sales.

For the three months to 31 March, net loss was $80,000, down from a loss of $218,000 reported in the same period last year. Losses per share narrowed to $0.04 from $0.09.

Sales fell to $4.75m from $5.27m. A retail trial generated $11,000 worth of sales for its Top-Flite brand.

For the nine-month period, net loss narrowed to $683,000 from $836,000 in the same period last year. Losses per share were $0.30, versus $0.31 in the prior period.

Net sales of fashion apparel were down 3% to $12.5m from $12.95m in the nine months.
