James Gilbert Ltd has now finalised its management buy-in team with the appointment of Duncan Bembridge as its group business development director.

Duncan joins the company with over 15 years of sports trade experience with Adidas, Avia and Mitre International.

Duncan's key responsibilities are to continue to develop the UK market and assist the rapid growth in Gilbert's international business, specifically in the subsidiary and joint venture regions, including France, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Asia.

Another key appointment to strengthen the Gilbert sales team is the addition of James Lawrence as the brands national accounts manager.

He joins James Gilbert from Airwair (UK) Ltd where he was the sales manager for the DM's Sport brand. James has extensive knowledge within the sports retail business and specifically in key account management with Adidas UK.

James will be responsible for Gilbert's national and selected corporate account portfolio. Supported by a sales force including nine regional agents in the UK and the four strong customer service team.

Managing director Martin Aynsley along with his team has seen a increase in business of 34 per cent in the year to date.

Other internal structural changes see the product development team being strengthened with the inclusion of Adam Braddock as the brands assistant product manager.
