A sportswear manufacturer supplying Nike and Adidas is poised to re-open after financial support was promised by the Thai Garment Manufacturing Association (TGMA).

As reported on just-style yesterday (12 July), Thai Silp Southeast Asia Export Import Co Ltd shut down unexpectedly on Wednesday leaving 5,000 workers without jobs.

The closure of the factory in Samut Prakan sparked a protest by workers who found themselves locked out.

However, the company now says it will reopen all three plants and re-hire all workers after the Thai Garment Manufacturing Association pledged help to continue its operations.
